It has 24-hour access and is a quiet base near to restaurants, bars and pubs. Free continental breakfast is served in your room. All rooms are well-decorated and have a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Ironing facilities and hairdryers are available. There are ground-floor rooms with easy access for the partially disabled.

By Car; Take the York West approach into York, signposted the a1036. Take left at the first set of lights, past Tescos on the left, towards York centre. Go one mile (& past racecourse on right). Through first set of lights then right lane. Turn right into Scarcroft Road. Right again at Scott Street to Holmlea at 6 Southlands Road. Taxi; Holmlea is a short taxi ride from York rail station. Walking; Holmlea is just off Bishopthorpe Road. From the city walls walk 400 yards up Bishopthorpe Road and Southlands Road is on the right.

Check In: The guest house operates 2 check-in periods. You can check-in before 12:00 (noon) or anytime after 17:00. Please state during the booking process if you wish to arrive after 17:00, stating also your expected time of arrival. Alternatively, please use the contact information provided in your booking confirmation email. Please contact Holmlea in advance if you will be arriving by car. Permits are provided for free, safe and unrestricted on-street parking.
