Local attractions include: Edinburgh Zoo - home to the world’s most northerly penguins (3 km); the Water of Leith Walkway, where you can follow the river downstream to the footbridge to the rear entrance of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art; and the Dean Gallery, which houses a good collection of Surrealists and many works by Edinburgh sculptor Sir Eduardo Paolozzi.
