This family-owned and run hotel in the eastern suburbs of Edinburgh is convenient for the city centre and only a short walk from the beach.
The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel offers 95 bedrooms, all of which are being constantly upgraded to exceed the expectations of guests. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, and most rooms feature a flat-screen digital TV.
Lauders Restaurant offers tasty hot and cold breakfast and an interesting à la carte menu for both lunch and dinner. Options Bistro offers snacks and more substantial meals from 10:00 to 22:00 seven days a week. BarZest is the main bar, and offers a wide range of beers, wines and other drinks in a friendly atmosphere shared with ‘locals’.

AREA INFORMATION
The Kings Manor is situated in the area called Joppa, adjacent to Edinburgh’s seaside holiday spot of Portobello. Although the hotel is close to the main A1 into the city it enjoys a quiet location with a local college and residential housing being its nearest neighbours.
About half a mile (ca 800 m) from the hotel is a large shopping area called Fort Kinnaird. This is one of the city’s largest out-of-town shopping areas and offers a wide range of retail experiences. Further west is Edinburgh city centre with its many attractions, and to the East is the spectacular coastal scenery and the world-famous golf courses of East Lothian.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
From Edinburgh Airport:
Edinburgh Airport is 12 miles to the west. A taxi will take about 30 minutes. An airport bus runs to the city centre.
By Train
Waverley Station in the city centre, and a taxi from the station will take 15-20 minutes. You can take the crossrail service (terminus Newcraighall) to Brunstane Station. Trains depart every half an hour, and journey time is 6 minutes (no Sunday service). It is 400 metres’ walk from Brunstane Station to Kings Manor.
By Bus
Lothian buses (number 44) depart from the city centre (Princes Street), and First Bus buses numbers 44, 6 and 124 depart from Princes Street.
By Car
From the junction of the city bypass (A720) and A1 (Old Craighall Junction):
- Follow the A1 northwards towards Leith.
-Go straight across roundabout at Asda.
- 400 metres later, take the right filter lane, turning right at the junction onto the A199 (direction Musselburgh).
- The hotel is 350 metres on the right.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Leisure Club:
The club is always very busy and so beauty treatments must be booked before your arrival.
No children may use the spa bath, sauna, steam room or gym. Swimming for children is restricted to between 09:00 and 19:00. The pool has no lifeguard and so children must be supervised at all times.
